2024 – Thank you Podsmead!

I was delighted to be re-elected to the Podsmead ward, increasing my majority to 126, and my share of the vote to over 45%. I will continue to work hard for all Podsmead residents.

It was also a great night for the Lib Dem team in Gloucester as we gained seven seats on our 2021 numbers to become the largest party on the city council with 17 councillors, in a no overall control council. The Conservatives lost control, going down to 11, with Labour on 7 and the Community Independents on 4. There was a rejection of Conservatism, in Podsmead where their candidate finished third, and across Gloucester.

The 2021 city council election in Podsmead saw me increase my share of the vote from 30% in the 2019 by-election to 40% this time.

I am very grateful to the 365 people who put their faith in me to continue as Podsmead’s city councillor.

This was the result of the July 2019 Podsmead city council by-election. In a very close contest I was elected the city councillor for Podsmead by THREE votes over the Conservative.
