Minor sinkhole/pothole on Tennyson Avenue
There is a minor sinkhole on Tennyson Avenue.
I have reported it to Highways and they have agreed to fill it.
Nearby, Gloucester City Homes are working on a sinkhole in a garden and this is due to be resolved soon.
Please let me know of any potholes in our area.

Success on alleyways in Podsmead
I am pleased to see a number of alleyways I have reported for clean-up have now been done, including
Tennyson Road to Podsmead Road
Burns Avenue to Eliot Close
Thornhill Close to Podsmead Road
However, I am surprised by the amount of chasing required to get simple jobs like this done. We are living in the time of the ‘vanishing council’.

Earls Park Update
It was good to chat to residents in Earls Park last week about issues of concern to them.
I have taken up several concerns with Matthew Homes:
🕳️ Pothole on corner of Emery Avenue/Millstone Way – will be filled next week 🔜
🌿 Hedge and brambles covering the footpath in Neven Place – reported again to Matthew Homes who have instructed contractor to deal with it 📝
♻️ Concerns over lack of access for recycling vehicles in Millstone Way/Emery Avenue – have spoken to city council waste and recycling officer and Matthew Homes and hope to have good news on this soon 🤞🏻
As always if you have problems I can help with, anywhere in Podsmead, get in touch:
Weekly ward work
Another busy week of reporting issues to the council.
Here are just a few I’ve reported in the last couple of days. If you spot anything that needs attention in our area please let me know.
Will the vanishing council ever get these weeds cleared?
I have reported weeds and litter in several alleyways around Podsmead to the council for clearing.
Some, like the one between Podsmead Road and Thornhill Close, I have reported multiple times.
Chatting to residents on the doorstep, it is clear that they share my view that the council is vanishing and is not getting small jobs like this done like they used to.
The problem is lack of resources. Staff are overwhelmed.
A Liberal Democrat run city council would sort these problems out and get the small things right once again.
I will continue to press for action on alleyways in Podsmead including this one as well as:
Burns Avenue to Eliot Close
Tennyson Avenue to Podsmead Road
Shelley Avenue to Tennyson Avenue
Please let me know details of any more you spot in our area.
Milton Avenue water levels
The water levels at Milton Avenue green space were very high this weekend so I reported it to the council who attended and assessed. Water levels are now back to normal.
